How to get the best education in Europe on a budget

Many aspire about studying abroad.  What can compare with the experience of living in a foreign country, understanding its culture, eating local food, and meeting new people?  International degrees can offer more than that, but managing the cost of tuition and boarding can put a hefty burden on a family.

Here’s good news for students who aim to continue their further studies in Europe!  EU citizens have the same rights in other member states. They are automatically entitled to study in another country without paying higher tuition fees. Although non-EU students are welcome in Europe, most end up paying more.  However, qualifying students can apply for a scholarship.  Consider studying in one of the countries below.  Remember to keep in mind the cost of accommodation, food, and personal expenses.

Belgium

Poland

Poland is an economical place for students, offering a high quality of education, along with plenty of culture and history.  EU citizens and students who speak Polish can study for free.  But non-Europeans will need to pay about €1,500 in tuition fees a year. And programs taught in English cost around €2,000-3000 per year.  Living costs are on the low side, so managing a budget is easy.

Greece

This country is the cradle of sciences and philosophy.  Greece promotes education for all students.  EU citizens can complete their Bachelor’s studies with no tuition cost.  But for those applying from outside the EU, the average tuition fee is €1,500 per year.  Plus, a cheap cost of living makes it an ideal destination for students.

UK

Scotland, England, Wales, and Northern Ireland all set their own strategy on tuition fees.  While Scotland provides free tuition for Scottish and EU residents, England has different rates for overseas and locals.  The annual cost varies according to the region.  Nonetheless, UK remains one of the favorite places for many students.  The quality of education and the facilities offered ranks this country as one of the top 10 destinations for higher studies.

Spain

Spain is a country where students don’t feel any financial pressure.  Course fees in public universities are some of the lowest in Europe, so Bachelor’s degree in a public university can cost anywhere between €680 – €1,280 per school year.  Within Spain, tuition fees are the same for both EU and non-EU pupils.  It’s one of the preferred places due to its low living costs. Many share rooms, settling for cheaper accommodation in exchange for more socialization.
